  1. Does postie not resize any more? Old postie ran (if properly configured) ImageMagick (http://www.blackrosetech.com/gessel/2008/08/07/fixing-imagemagick-resize-in-postie) and put resized thumbnails in /wp-photos/thumb.(filename).jpg.

    Current postie seems to reference the original image and resizes in the browser (true?). If so, then page loads could be painfully slow as large images are downloaded and scaled.

    That postie created thumbnails was one of the most useful features.

    As of postie 1.3+, postie lets wordpress handle image resizing, the same way wordpress does when you post via the web interface. Postie uses whatever settings you have defined under "Settings > Media" for image resizing. It creates three different versions of each file, a large, a medium, and a thumbnail.

  3. Odd, wordpress doesn't seem to be doing the resizing, but I'm not fully up to date and so I will update everything then try again...
